Redefining Value: The Grassroots Journey to Basic Income

Universal Basic Income (UBI) is the idea that everyone should have a basic financial floor to stand on. Han from FairSpirit shows us that when we give people modest, unconditional support, the fear of poverty disappears and communities begin to thrive. By starting small and growing from the ground up, we can figure out what actually works to fix inequality.

In this edition, we’ll follow FairSpirit’s journey from a local project in Utrecht (Binkgeld) to its growing work in Africa. We will look at digital tools like GoodDollar, Utrechtse Euro, and Circles to see how technology can be used to help people rather than just make a profit. Most importantly, we aren’t just talking about theories - we’re going to get hands-on and try these systems out for ourselves.
